Yesterday I was enjoying spring weather in the home base in Lauttasaari without seeing any incoming migrants.  I got a couple of locals, a crow and  a goosander and noticed that their flying styles are a little different.

I returned today to Lauttasaari, Helsinki, my photographing home base. Looks good, solid ice layer is broken and the place is ready for birds to come.

The sympathetic small tit is common in Lapland. It survives the hard winter by having thousands of insects in its hides.
